Meet your therapist

Kara Glendening, MSW, LCSW

Hello! It’s great to have you here learning more about Piece by Piece Counseling Center. I am Kara Glendening, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been practicing social work since 2006. I obtained my clinical license in 2009.

As a therapist, I work to build a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients so I can help them identify barriers and then solutions to overcoming life’s challenges. I work to provide a comfortable and safe space for clients to come and share in a confidential way.

I use a variety of therapeutic techniques including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Behavioral Therapies, Exposure Therapies. I have specialized training in working with children who have endured abuse.

After providing outpatient therapy and working as a supervisor in an outpatient mental health counseling center for many years, I have ventured out to build my own private practice, Piece by Piece Counseling Center.

I look forward to meeting with you!

THE STORY BEHIND PIECE BY PIECE COUNSELING CENTER

If you are wondering how Piece by Piece Counseling Center got it’s name, here it is….

Anyone who knew my mother, knows that she had a beautiful heart. She thought of others long before she ever thought of herself. She was the true definition of selfless! In addition to her beautiful heart, she was incredibly talented. She loved everything fabric and created beautiful pieces…by taking small, sometimes simple, sometimes intricate pieces of fabric and putting them together to make something amazing. During her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, she took each day, each piece of her illness and battled like a champion. She continues to inspire me and guide me in the work that I do every day.
